jung sooyeon, the one-half of a twin, was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. her father was a well known and now retired soccer player while her mother was an up and coming designer. they were supposed to be a happy family that everyone else envied. but with her father's injury preventing him from further pursuing his dreams, he grew bitter with every headline of himself and his wife. the once cordial man turned into his complete opposite self, intentionally attempting to hurt everyone who were successful - his wife specifically. sooyeon was in her last year of high school when her mother walked out of the house with sooyeon in hand, leaving her father and her brother behind. they explained that they were still in love and that they cared for one another, but that they just couldn't live together due to the obvious reasons. however, everyone besides the family seemed to be more than aware that the couple was being merely stubborn about signing the divorce papers. the press already had enough to talk about them, why give them more?
in sooyeon's mind, whatever her parents were going through was something that they needed to sort out on their own without dragging anyone else into the mess. she didn't play any favorites or grew bitter about the entire situation; she simply visited her father whenever she had the chance to and that was the end of that. the situation between her parents became more or less a joke between her brother and herself because of the extreme rollercoaster of emotions their parents seemed to be having. the troubles drove their parents apart, but it gave sooyeon and her brother a reason to bond.
she later on applied and was accepted to her parents' alma mater without knowing what she wanted to do with herself. her current major was a random choice; something made on a whim, but it was supposedly something that would help her later on in her life. sooyeon originally had no intentions to rush for a sorority only because she had a certain stereotype of a typical sorority girl embedded into her head. her mother, however, a proud alumnus of Zeta Tau Alpha, pushed her to join. the lifetstyle wasn't exactly her cup of tea, but with her legacy status, she was eventually elected as the vice president of of the group of girls.
she doesn't exactly have an idea on what she wants to now that she is an official graduate of the university. as of now, she lives with her boyfriend and is doing a little bit of everything with the hopes of finding what she wants to do.

“I don’t want to talk as much,’ she said, denting her chin thoughtfully with her forefinger. ‘It’s nicer to think dear, pretty thoughts and keep them in one’s heart, like treasures. I don’t like to have them laughed at or wondered over.”
